FAQ’s

What Does The Ordering Process Involve?

You are not committed to buy the guitar after completing a configuration via the virtual builder. A representative from Porter Guitars will contact you within 48 hours to confirm your build specs and review the order with you. After all specifications and options have been confirmed you will have the option to order the guitar, at which point you will be sent a bill for the initial payment.

What Are Your Payment Options?

We offer two payment options. The first is a down payment of $1.500 with the balance being paid before the date of shipping. The second option is full-payment of the guitar upfront. Regardless of payment type, your initial $1,500 deposit will be non-refundable after your order is confirmed.

What Are The Wait Times For A Guitar?

Initially, our expected build time is 3 months. Our goal, however, is dependent on the amount of orders we receive and may vary. We are striving to provide our best approximation, and as such our build time is subject to certain delays in inventory availability, as well as other factors. We have done our best to give an accurate time frame in which we expect to finish each guitar and commit to being fully honest and upfront with any delays. Porter Guitars is committed to keeping you informed in every step of the build process and will provide you consistent updates along the way.

Is Shipping Included In The Price Of A Guitar?

Not at this time. Shipping will be calculated and the cost will be added to the price of the guitar. We will provide a shipping quote when we confirm your order.

Do You Ship Internationally?

Yes, however shipping costs will rise based on the destination. In addition, rosewood boards will not ship internationally due to recent regulations. We will work with you to choose alternate woods in this case if you live outside the US to prevent any unfortunate delays or even loss of your guitar at customs.

Do You Do Custom Shop Work?

Custom creations outside our stock colors, body wood, fretboard woods, neck woods, pickup configurations, pickguard materials etc will be subject to approval and will be charged accordingly. If you do not see it on our virtual builder, there will likely be upgrade charges. All custom options must fall within the general specs of the guitar. Please email us with questions. Custom Orders are also subject to increased production times.

Do You Ever Have Guitars In Stock?

As of right now we aren’t building guitars to sell without an intended purchaser. However, from time to time, we may stock guitars which have already been sprayed with their color(s) and are ready for your choice of guards. Since they will likely be a faster build, they will require full upfront payment. Feel free to text, email, or call us for details regarding anything we may potentially have in stock.
